Anxiety doesn’t always look like someone who is nervous. It is an emotion that impacts the brain, body, & behavior. There are many different responses that anxiety can evoke.
Do you recognize some of these in your child? Maybe in yourself? Yes, anxiety can be expressed through aggression or even a need to control the environment. Perfectionism is also often connected to anxiety.
So the next time you find yourself, your child, or anyone else displaying some of these behaviors-give them support and offer connection instead of judgement.
